OVO, the Cirque du Soleil's 25th production celebrating the troupe's 25th anniversary, places the theme of insects center stage.
Portuguese for "egg," OVO offers an anthropomorphic view of insects while they work, play and look for love. OVO is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious. OVO is overflowing with contracts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is reveled as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.
The worldwide premiere was May 8, 2009, in Montreal at the Old Port although presentations began as early as April 23. OVO ran in Montreal through July 19, 2009, then embarked on its worldwide tour that is expected to last for 15 years. The show will be coming to New York in June of 2010 and TRAVEL KUZ has Level 1 Seats under the Big Tent at Randall's Island Park.
